Axel Remde (CH)

Axel Remde is a fourth generation electrical engineer who studied in Dresden (DE) and Karlsruhe (DE). After completing his PhD in Applied Computer Science, he worked for more than a decade for a Swiss medical device company, initially in various technical and scientific roles. Over time, his work with inventions and patents became increasingly important, leading to a move to the patent department. Axel prepared for this career early on by studying the state of the art through reverse engineering. From 2012 to April 2024, Axel worked as a European and Swiss patent attorney for the law firm Rentsch Partner AG in Zurich (CH). In May 2024 he joined Inventio AG (A member of the Schindler Group) in Hergiswil, Nidwalden (CH) as in-house patent counsel. Axel's interest in photography began at school. He works on several open-ended series that he develops over long periods of time. His favorite subjects are abandoned places and production facilities, the aesthetics of decay, precision engineering and tabletop photography.
