Patricia Louise Ringeling (NL)
Patricia Ringeling transforms paper waste into a colourful wall decoration, an original bowl or a personal journal with soft-edged handmade paper. The techniques she uses are paper maché and paper pulping. I think there is value in most of the things which we call waste. First, I used only newspapers. When I started in the patent field, I soon realized that the paper I was shredding was good quality waste paper which could be used for my art pieces. When we don't use any paper anymore, I cannot recycle anymore. But until that day, I just continue recycling paper. Patricia Ringeling has more than 20 years of experience as a European patent attorney and has worked in industry and private practice. In 2006 she started Enelex Innovation in Delft, the Netherlands, with a focus on SMEs in the life sciences. She had several exhibitions with her paper art and gives paper recycling workshops.
